Mystery Brass Tag

Here's a brass tag I found at an old house site from the late 1800's. It has the words "Rochester Club" and the number "87" underneath it. What is it and what did it go to? Any help. Thanks.

There used to be a place on East Avenue in Rocheter, NY called the Rochester Club. Maybe a Valet key tag, or coat tag.
