Dug this piece the other day and have searched carriage parts, horse ties etc. Can't find anything remotely like it. The first pic shows how it was in the ground, so I'm fairly certain it was attached to wood that has long since decayed. Also, what looks like nail remnants are actually rivets. Thanks for looking!!
