It appears to be a small, round, silver-colored metal disc with a tab on the back and a "3" stamped on the front.

I've seen these key fobs from the older nostalgic beach hotels near where I live. Its a room key tag/fob from either a hotel/motel or a B&B. Nice find though. Be cool if you found it near one of those places and could find some history behind it. For me it's not just the item but the story that comes with it.
