I posted the larger piece of lead a couple months ago but did not get a conclusive answer. Recently I found an almost identical piece, only this one is significantly smaller. Though it is smaller it shares the same characteristics. They are both conical with a domed top, there are striations on the side (but not twisted striations) and they both have dimples on the bottom. They appear to be well aged and do not look like anything from a modern firearm. I am stumped!

From wikipedia: "The first recorded use of the term shotgun was in 1776 in Kentucky."

The lead thinggy could certainly be that old! I think PBK called it.
