Mystery Louis Vuitton Trunk

I was fortunate enough to scoop up this Louis Vuitton trunk. I have been trying to figure out the date and value, but I'm hitting a brick wall. Anyone know of any resources or personal knowledge that can help me?

So far my guess is late 1800's, pre LV logo.

I've no idea on value, but considering that it has a full label you might contact the company and provide them the serial number. They may have records going back many decades.
