✅ SOLVED Mystery Tool

[Bumpy Road]

I found this tool in my barn that I (and others) have been unable to identify. There are no sharp edges. Anyone have any idea as to what it is?

It is approximately 36" long, and the metal appears to be drop forged (white metal?). The property was a farm at one time. (I have only seen one other just like it in a Cracker Barrel restaurant, and no one I talked to knew what it was either.)

To add to VHS07's reply:

Patented Feb 11, 1919. (Not Feb 1. - The USPTO did not issue any patents on Feb 1, 1919).
I'll bet if the relic is cleaned up a bit, there might be another "1" hiding in there somewhere to make an "11".

The utility patent is # 1,293,824 issued to Louis H. Ludwig, Waukegan, IL.
