Mystery Toy

[Stoneman]

Found this recently at an old homesite that dates approx. 1850 to 1920. It's made of brass, and has a tube that runs through it. I've been told that it might be an early "squirt gun", and would have had a rubber bladder attached to the handle. Has anyone seen anything like this?

Hmm, that's pretty fancy for a toy. Could it be a faucet or spigot I wonder. I have a couple of fancy old gas valves, could be one or them too I suppose.
