Nails & Pulltabs

:D :D Recently I was asked "Do you ever have a nail and pulltab kind of day?".. YES, Josh and I dig our fair share of trash and then some. We've considered posting the endless mounds of trash that it takes just to recover a few colonial and civil war relics, and still may someday ;D These finds are from the last couple days. We decided to try out a few new spots near some of the better sites that are becoming "dry". Here's what I came up with--

2 Washington Arsenal Star-base bullets & a Swage bullet

General Service Eagle Poker Chip & Navy

2 Nice Tokens (the smaller of the two is the same size as a halfdime)

"Baltimore Club Rye" pocket knife ???

Lead Hand holding a cup ???

Peculiar Iron piece with Brass attachment and a blue stone in center ???

Yep, as Jeff stated, a Coat or Hem Weight. Used in many military Frock coats and shell jackets....as well as civilian ones. They were sewn into the inside corners of the coats to keep them weighed down.

Nice finds Jeff. That site we're on is producing quite a few bullets. Hopefully we can "nab" :laughing7: us some buttons from it tomorrow.
