I was thinking about it and I’ve always called it local chert but I have no idea what it really is, anybody from se Kansas or Missouri Oklahoma Arkansas area know what it is actually called?

I was searching info at the projectilepoints.net site and they have set up a new section about lithic materials and locations. They need a bunch of pictures from those of you that have info. Right now however you can go to your state/area and they have names of the lithics and that can get you a little way on your i.d. process.

I’ll look into it. a lot of times I throw something up here then do the research on my own. This site is a great resource and sometimes I get an answer much faster here than on my own. Thanks for the suggestion
 

Hertha chert appears to be the answer
