Sure would help if you could tell us what all the "WORDS" are on the search coil, armrest, etc. Your photograph isn't sharp (or large) enough to read.

MetroTech - Mountainview, California. :skullflag:

That machine was considered the "hot" detector for relic hunting back in the mid 1970s.

I think Andrew is a good name for it.

Agree, but it is on Facebook for sale. They won't take any pictures of it and they don't know anything about it.

wonder if it works still.....I think Terry nailed it.....

How do you do it?? Amazing! Knowledge is always the key to....

That's a big red flag if someone is selling something and won't take any additional pictures for a buyer. I almost got scammed a couple weeks back buying a pure bred boxer. The seller wouldn't take more photos and then pulled the listing when I confronted them about it.

Terry got it. They were introduced in 1963. A some guys still using them even into the 1970s. I hear from those that were using them in the mid 1960s, that they were ground-breaking technology. They are a dinosaur now though. Nice vintage piece if it works.

There are a couple of different MetroTech models at about 1:25 in this video. A few blasts from the past!
