hey pete,what part of the country are you in? man....you really clean up on them old pre 1900s coins. im in wilmington delaware which is about 20miles south of philadelphia so i know there are some old ones around here. my main problem is that the whole area is really built up and there are limited older areas to hunt. im always on the lookout for them though. i cant drive 10 feet without rubbernecking some new spot!!

::) 1967 dime ::

Found it planting flowers friday!
Hope to do better today!

1941 Wheatie, found in an older baseball field.

That would be a 1876 Indian head penny . Cleaned up real nice, a lot of detail. Found my second pre 1900 yesterday another I.H penny 1898.

an 1856 or 1865 seated dime (cant remember the date exactly). I got extremely lucky in an old park after a small construction project. It was the only coin found at that construction site. The coin is so severely worn that the only numbers of the date was 56 or 65. My oldest coin so far. My second oldest would be an 1889 seated dime.

1857 Seated Dime. Found it in my front yard. LOL.

Mine was an 1867 Indian Head Cent.
Found it my first day detecting, and haven't found anything older than that yet...

1787 massachusetts cent

1863 seated dime. Which goes well with the 1885 morgan I got at the beach last year.

Oldest American minted coin is a 1794 Large Cent. I also found an old silver coin that resembled the Spanish pieces of eight, but had no date on it. Never fully identified it, as an ex-girlfriend stole it long ago.

Do you mean 1865? They were only minted from 1864 to 1873.
