Nana's Relic Day

Have been out of town allllll week and didn't get to go huntin the first time. :'( So got up early this morning and hit the road back to Old Mercdonald's. Knowing that I have only found one merc and five wheats there I was planning on making this my relic hunting day....dig it all, even if it takes 30 minutes per hole to get to the target. :-X Well...I did....and my arms feel like noodles! :D I am pooped...but gosh did I have fun! Was 68 degrees when I arrived and it didn't take long for it to reach the 80's. :P Ended up with some purdy good relics and of course buttons....think they used buttons for trade instead of money? :D Found this neat little purple bead while diggin and a thimble...slightly worn... ::) and of course the bullet.....well....I assume a bullet...after I washed it off it looks like ....brass? Did they make bullets out of brass? Found it in the middle of the pasture while wondering around looking for another house site.

Hope you all have a great holiday weekend!

Nana ;)

Re: Nana's Relic Day

I love the relics, Nana. Especially the buttons. Pretty work.
I have been using the MXT a lot on the beach a lot this summer. It is a good machine, but I am looking forward
to hitting some old home sites with it this fall and winter. I have found a lot of cool things
on the beach....but the MXT was built for the soil, not the sand. Especially wet sand.

Thanks for sharing.

Re: Nana's Relic Day

Good digs. I have more fun digging relics than coinshooting at parks. So interesting. Weather here is getting perfect for MDing.

Re: Nana's Relic Day

Nice finds Nana! That little glass bead looks like the ones I find here in Germany, I wonder if it came from here? Iron is selling for $15.00 a ton here in Europe right now, LOL! HH, Mike
