national forest question

I have found the rules for prospecting in Michigan from state websites my question is on national forests are the rules diffrent? I came from az and there the nf rules where pretty basic detactors and panning but not limit on the amount t that could be collected. Some areas had other rules I guess my questions is the limit that state has on the amount of gold collected in a year is that still aplied if on federal land within the state.
