Native American earrings????

I found these these weekend. I can not find anything like the design. I don't know if they are Native American or some thing else. The design is unusual. Couldn't find the makers mark anywhere, not sure what the mark is?????

Pretty cool. They look like overlay work (Hopi style). Also looks like there is a picto signature on the back. Look here for picto marks and try to match it: Indian Native American pictograph hallmarks

Thank you! I wasn't able to find it before. Stewart Tewawina is the maker. It has a sun with it on the page you suggested. So I looked up his jewelry and found some with out the sun. I am sure he is the one that made my earrings. There were earrings similar in style by him.
