I found this a few years back in western New York. I was out looking for points and saw the little face just staring back up at me. The face is made out off Native American pottery looks like it was broke off of something then polished on the bottom. It is truly one of my best and most interesting finds. However i am not sure what it is off of i think it is from a pipe and looked back at the person smoking it . I would also like to hear any thoughts on the small square holes that are around the forehead. Any ideas would be really helpfull.

Thanks for looking
Moah

Interesting knick-knack. Face looks human, front outline looks catlike, rear looks like a hooded cobra. Only thing i can think of for the holes is they used to hold small glass pieces or jewels. :dontknow:

All those things, Dano, but it also looks like a mask from the Northwest US tribes, at least from the side.
