This was dug up by a friend's dog at her home in Blair County, PA - appears to be sandstone. Could this have been some type of early American tool? All comments and thoughts are appreciated, thanks!

Welcome to the forum!

I have seen a lot of rocks over the years and the many different ways they fracture still amaze me. Your piece while interesting, looks completely natural to me. Reminds me of a blunted rail-road spike.

As unusual as it appears in your pictures I agree with "Quito" that it is a natural formation, with no signs of prehistoric mans' work.

Agree, natural rock.... Better luck next time..
