My son had a family member on his wife’s side pass away and left him this beautiful silver squash blossom necklace. Not knowing what to do with it, he gave it to me.
Having been a Silversmith and experienced in repairing Native American jewelry, he thought I might like it. Here’s a pic!

Wow, that really a nice gesture. Congratulations.

Very nice ! If if you know who the maker is the value goes up, also if it's vintage (circa 60's70's) the turquoise is likely American -Arizona ,Nevada- which is a big plus . Most of the high quality U.S. mines have been played out for decades !

Thanks guys! I do believe it was made in the Southwest circa 60/70’s. Just by the look of the smithing and stamping on the piece. Plus the stones, from my experience, look to be of the era and local. Also, I knew the lady who owned it and she was a pilot from this area.
Thanks for your comments!

Beautiful piece of jewelry! :occasion14:

Thank you Professor!

Awesome necklace! WEAR IT :icon_thumleft:

I'd call you one lucky silversmith! That is one awesome piece!

My inappropriate side wants to know. What's a genuine necklace, like that, worth in value?

I’m not sure of its value. $500-1100 possibly is just a guess! I really have no idea.

RustyGold - in terms of value , here in Santa Fe a piece like that would easily fetch between $2500. to $4000. I'm not exagerating at all !

I'd love to see a few more pics - showing the stones and the beads close up !

Beautiful!! Who is the artist?

I’m not sure who the artist was. I don’t see a hallmark.

I’m shocked about the possible value. When I was active in Native American arts it was all lower cost back then.

Treasure found or treasure given --- it's still treasure! Congrats on gaining such a beautiful piece! :icon_thumleft:

totally beautiful piece, stunning workmanship

Thank you Javadroid and dirtlooter for the kind words.
