Found this yesterday after work. I cannot find any information on this token but there has been a small shipyard here since the mid 1800s but there is little on the internet ..

I believe the Freeport Naval Stores Co. was part of the West Florida Naval Stores organization which began about 1910.

Nice find! It is not listed in Clark's Florida Trade Tokens book, nor on tokencatalog.com. If you would like me to post it on tokencatalog, let me know the measurement (across the flats) or take a pic with it and a slightly smaller coin on top and I can do it.

Love local history.

Those trade tokens are superb finds. I would rather find a local trade token than an old coin any day.

Congrats on a couple of very nice tokens. I agree with DetectingGod, I always like finding the old tokens, and prefer those over old coins any day.

Hi, nice find.:icon_thumleft: I love old tokens

Awesome navy token Birdman. Love the military tokens. I found several 1940s-1960s US Army military tokens when I was in Korea. Many from the Korean war era. I would rather find an old military tokens than a silver coin.

Loved Korea,I was at Kunsan and Deagu. Found lots of old Korean and Chinese coins there.

Here's the listing, birdman:
FREEPORT NAVAL STORES CO. / FREEPORT / FLA. (TC-521951) Freeport, Florida (Walton County), U.S.A.

Also, for everyone's info, "naval stores" do not necessarily have anything to do with either the Navy or stores. Per Wikipedia, naval stores are all products derived from pine sap. I suspect this token was involved with a "company store" located at some point in the pine woods where the sap was harvested and the turpentine manufactured.

birdman--the Johnson & Bro. token from Freeport also needs to be listed on tokencatalog. Could you please post a pic of the reverse side and I will post that one as well. Thanks!
