Can I see a photo of the back with the dirt removed? My hunch is that it's a blazer button.

I rinsed it in water and the back fell apart. Working on a pic, might be later. Any thoughts on age ? Thanks !

I agree with BuckleBoy, lets see the back. I have searched USA and Foreign (Military) Navy buttons and cant find any with a leaf and berries on them. Probably a decorative dress coat button.

I noticed the roping is different then most of the navy buttons I see online.

Yep. It's a civilian blazer button. Not military.
