Hello All! Got out to two spots today. Started the day field hunting. My first good (great!) find of the day is this North Carolina state seal Confederate button!!! (I'm a NC native, this was def on my bucket list!) I think there may be some gilt under the dirt, will try some aluminum jelly when I get back from Xmas. I also found a neat gilt cuff link? There appears that something was attached to both sides. I then proceeded to a new spot and found my first walking liberty quarter! It's worn bad so no date but I was still excited. Hopefully I can get the black crud off... I also have a few items I can't positively ID so as usual your input is very valuable and very appreciated. (Will oost in what is it as well) Thanks for looking, Merry Christmas and Happy Hunting!!!

Forgot to mention> I found an eagle button in this same field on a previous hunt (missing the back too) makes me wonder... If only they could talk!

Kuger- now if I could only find that NC seal tongue to solve my mystery wreath buckle!

Nice NC Staff button. Your last photo is a broken harmonica reed. The big brass thingy is a part of a brass bed. And yes, ya got a cufflink there. Well done.

Thanks buckleboy! BTW> I enjoyed your post on cleaning buttons- very valuable info! Aluminum jelly might bring this one out, tested it on an eagle button, great stuff.

great finds. congrats on the button. the marking on the inside of the ring is most likely the size. I see that a lot on cheap-o rings
