I found this in the same field I found some 3. Ringers and a powder flask.. I'm super excited. Anyone have any clue as to what it is.. It's iror, cylindrical and has a point like a rail road spike

I'm not an expert but do you suppose this item was carried by Artillary men in case their line was over ran by the other side. You could drive this tool into the fuse hole and make a cannon unable to be used for a short time. If you had to retreat you would not like the advancing soldiers to use your own cannon to hasten your trip.
