Youre right about the premium on halves. They didnt circulate as much and wear less so they have a tad bit more silver left in them. Also, look at how little the 1964 halves circulated in comparison to the rest of the silver coins. I think I saw on the goldismoney.info forum that halves were averaging .72 onces per dollar versus the .715 that you expect on the other denominations.
