Detector(s) used
Nokta FoRs Gold, a Gold Cube, 2 Keene Sluices and Lord only knows how many pans....not to mention a load of other gear my wife still doesn't know about!
Primary Interest:
Prospecting
I was watching a program about the gaseous makeup of nebulas and how it is involved in new star formation, and something caught my eye as they were showing actual photo's of various nebula clouds. Had to back up and freeze the frame, then took a screenshot of it and cropped out this one section.

Is it just me, or is the universe trying to tell us something?

Could be an interstellar sea horse...

What I see is an arm with a hand that's giving me the finger, and what appears to be somebody hanging off of the arm with his legs dangling in space.

Oh I saw that too. :icon_thumright: But I also see a seahorse (which is expelling ... something).

If you want to see some crazy space pareidolia, check out this substack post. The author takes NASA photos and "folds" them and comes up with pretty crazy stuff.

Well I see the fist with the middle finger up.... and, I can take a hint. I'm staying out of that area or I'll end up like the guy with the tail hanging on below the skinny wrist.

Didn't think to look before I posted it, but I did a little research and, of course, this thing is catalogued!

Known as the "Finger of God", or the "Defiant Nebula", it's located in the Carina Nebula, and the hand the finger attaches to measures about two light-years across.

If it is, indeed, the Finger of God, we'uns are in deep doo-doo!

If a light year is approximately 587,860,000,000,000 miles, to put that is perspective from Earth to Moon is 0.00001581 mile of a light year, makes you feel kind of small. By google search, numbers may be off a bit or a lot :icon_scratch:
