I hit the tot lots on the way home and spied a necklace in the wood chips. it was marked 14KT Italy. It was missing the clasp. I got it home and it weighed 18.2grams. But wait....I hit the touch stone and it came up negative! ^$&%$&^$&^%$&^%$&^$!!!!!!! Damn counterfeiters!

My thoughts exactly. I know I would be inventing a few words in that situation. But, what can you do? Just keep at it, and the next one you pull up may be the real deal :icon_thumright:

I know the feeling. Found one like that under one of the Newport Beach piers a year or two back after digging handfull of pennies all afternoon. Really bums you out once you realize the chain is not real.

Know the feeling found one at house next door stamped 14k but was rusted up badly.

I also found a 14kt marked cross two weeks ago.....fake. 925 Italy silver necklace a month or two ago....fake! I bet 25% or more of marked jewelry is now fake.
