I bought a used x terra 705 gold pack about a year ago

only used it 3 times today was the third time my dilemma is

my volume works intermittently I have to take the batteries

out and put them back in for the sounds to come back on

is there an easy fix to this or do I need to take it some where

to get it fixed thanks in advance

sometimes it still don't work after the batteries are removed

Never had that happen. Do you unplug the headphones before you change the batteries? I am thinking that the headphones are more likely the culprit than the battery pack. Had you tried a different set? If you don't have a second set you can buy an inexpensive 1/4 jack adapter and then try any set of headphones you might have.

I am new to the e-xterra, the same thing happens to me today , I plugged in my headphones and was getting intermittent sound ,and all it was that I didn't have the plug all the way into the jack as soon as I pushed the plug all the way in things were fine.

Dust and dirt can enter the headphone jack - try pushing the headphones in and out 6-8 times to clean the contact. Let us know if this works for you.

I don't use head phones just listen to the audible from thee machine

Maybe since it's a used machine, the speaker just isn't working properly anymore. If that's the case, the headphone jack should still be ok. You'll hear the faint signals better too. I think headphones are in your future. :icon_thumright:
