I know this is not the right place for this, but can anyone give some advice on using an AT Pro in fresh water? I have the standard 8x11 coil and get a lot of false signals when it bumps rocks or the bottom. Too many false signals to dig. On land I use the Pro Zero mode and set the discriminate to 25 to 27 and have no problems. I am just getting to know the AT Pro as I have been using a whites for 14 years. Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

Johncoho,
Have you tried doing a Very good ground balance in the water? Also try running the sensitivity down a bit.

When using my AT Pro in saltwater, I use the Pro/Custom mode.

Try running the descrimination up to 40 and lower the sensitivity a couple notches from full and see what you get. Some freshwater spots I've tried had tons of very small rusty chips of iron that would make you think it was falsing like crazy but it wasn't.

Please do not post these type of threads in "Today Finds".

Thank you I will give it a try.

You are hunting in pro mode right? I know standard mode is way too noisy in salt water, but I've never tried it in fresh water.
