Need help ID ing brass ring

Ok so today I was detecting a school yard that dates back to the turn of the 1900's and got a nice high tone at 8 inches on my etrac. Cleaned it up and it is brass I believe. Is it a bearing race or something else?

It looks like a grommet from an old flag.
