It's about the size of my hand and looks like it was mounted on something..it weighs about 2lbs

I think it may be part of an old parking meter. I have not found an exact model but check out the pics. I would say parking was a nickel and by the arrow at the bottom that says this side, I bet you put your nickel in the side you were parked on.

You know I bet your right...I've never seen parking meters here in my town and apparently they were taken out of the town in the 80's..I appreciate your help!
