Thank you in advance for any help you can shed on this piece. Im thinking it’s a Native American. Possibly Navajo or Zuni Pueblo?? But thats just a guess. It has around the base a what is a catalog number or identification number. Has the name of the piece which is called Fancy Dancer. Then has signature. Im hoping some sleuths can help shed insight on who the artist is if they can find info. I’ve looked, but keep coming up empty handed. It’s about 5 inches tall. It has tarnished pretty good. Needs a little polishing. Please look at photos of markings. Thank you again.

What a unique (in a good way) piece - maybe even one of a kind. Can't make out the maker's initials. Thought it could be CLS but if you look at it w/ a magnifying glass and post - that would help. The lettering looks like it was made with an electric engraver (note how scribbly it is & the skips in the letter "y" preceding the maker's initials). The base might be Tiger Eye.

Consider posting a pic of the bottom. Until you determine what is is and who made it, I recommend not cleaning it.

Looks a bit like an abstract version of a road runner.

I wish you would have taken a side view picture of the object cause if you did I could see if that side part that sticks out has a hole in it for holding a feather/pin if so its probably a ink well of some kind and that might help you narrow down your search some. You know its a shame 25 years ago you could find just about anything on the internet to identify stuff but now the web is nothing but a tool to brain wash us and nothing like it use to be like free information, what a pity.

Thank you for the thoughts on this. Here are a few more pictures. The bottom was already polished when I got it.

Are these letters on the bottom? If so, what are they?
