Found today near the river in the heart of the gold country of California. I thought maybe a bearing ball, or some kind of round shot. I'm pretty new to
identifying relics, so any help is appreciated.

looks just like a ball bearing to me

What is it - lead or iron? What is the diameter?

It's iron and a little less than 3/8 of an inch.

My first guess is an iron sling shot .. just about perfect size wise.

Thank you . I just found another one today at a different spot. I still get stoked with anything out of the ordinary, even if it's trash sometimes.
