Need help identifying this pin !

I found this lapel pin this morning under an old cloths line at my
60 year old house. Im sure its not too old but I was excited
to find it. I'm just getting back into metal detecting after many
years and I'm having a ball My Ace 250 sure beats that old
BH- VLF/TR I used to use in the early 80's. Anyhow this pin was
about 3 inches deep and it has ( We Forge Ahead ) engraved at
the bottom. Sorry for the crappy photo's but I spent the money for my new camera on my metal detector I love this awesome forum and would appreciate and thoughts on what this thing is.

I'm pretty sure it's military, and probably Army. Could be any branch, though.

Unit badges have a motto like that quoted, and the pierce-pin attachment that accepts the little brass-looking squeezit thing to keep it on the uniform are typical military as well.

Air Force squadrons had heraldic-looking crests with mottos, also. 77th Fighter Squadron of the WW2 20th Fighter Group had "Victory by Valor", for example.

Do a websearch on Army Air Force and the motto and you might find out what unit it was.

It's a very good find in any case!

I just did that search, and it returned a 1st link that had the excerpt "18th Support Battalion".

Cool that it's a Support Bn. I was in one of those (truck unit) that dated back to when they used mule trains in WW1.

The 4th S & T Battalion Motto: "4th S & T, you call, we haul; if we can't truck it, (er..) mail it".

I went to the sight you mentioned Admiral and there were many
simular to it , so it probably is military. We just bought the house
a few months ago , so I might have try to find out who lived here in years past , who knows maybe someone would like to have it back after all these years

It might help to do some websearching on 18th Support Battalion, if that's indeed the unit for this crest pin. There were tons of units that were deactivated after WW2.

If the little item to the left of the pin in your pics is the "attachments dooflickie", I would guess the pin is pretty old. The 'squeezit' kind of clip that I mentioned was in use in WW2 (my Dad had pins with them) and up through at least the VietNam era (my pins and ribbons).
