✅ SOLVED Need help identifying

found this object at a auction in a box lot.has some writing on it. makers name with made in Germany,cant make out most of the writing. at first I thought maybe a weight for something. weight is 1.4 pounds and looks and feels to be metal, very old. any thoughts?
