Thanks for your prompt reply. It looks like I found a tent guy tightenner not a gun part. There was a CCC camp on this site also.
Maybe it came from them. I don't think anyone camped here during the Battle of Olustee, but i maybe wrong.
 

cool find! being up north i've only found one. apparently pretty common in the south civil war area. but still way cool.
 

very likely from the ccc camp...
 

I have found several of these at a Spanish-American war camp here. Some have patent dates on them and some are blank.
