Thats what i though but i ruled that out when i saw how the back had like crimped edges on it and that little hook thing. Anyone have any ideas on the design on it?

maybe its part of an old pocketbook. it has the right shape and size to some i remember seeing as a kid. they made and still do make some that have a stiff decorative piece built in and the other half can have the pincher part that holds it closed. they make all kinds of them. always did. i wish i had my grandmothers old new york city pocketbook. that thing had actual thick metal plates in it to hit muggers with. and it weighed 15 pounds. every part of it was a weapon.

Now go back and see if you can find the bottom half.
