Bought a bag of miscellaneous colonial period relics which came out of an old collection.

One of the items is an 18th century TYPE brass buckle. It has a small stamped "G" on the back. Any idea if this is reproduction buckle? Or what?

We need more pictures.
From where I'm sitting it looks like a strip of brass with a 9 or 6 on it or possibly a g.
Help us out here with a little more info...
Size, shape, pics, etc.

It is a "G" in kind of a script and just a couple mm high.
