Need help on coin ID

My wife's grandfather give me this coin but I can't find it in any of my books. I think it my be some kind of replica or a token. Both sides say the same thing but the portrait is different. Does anyone have any information on this coin?

Looks almost hand made. Even back then, in the late 1700's, they made nice coins:

It does look a little home made. I found a couple colonial coins in the red book that has the same color as this one.

Maybe it's a bad counterfit test?
