E. A. Schmidt was the maker of the tokens. Some folks think that St. Louis is where they were used. that is not correct. they were sold throughout the central and midwest region. Unless someone has a catalog showing where your bakery was located your best bet is to check merchant or business directories for every nearby town in the period 1900 to 1920. To find the value you need to know the town it was used and whether itis a known token or an unknown token. If your relative knows the name of the town you are way ahead. good luck, siegfried schlagrule
