need help possible a old gun barrell

We found this at a park that was a 1800s army fort we are 99% SURE its a part of a gun barrell any ideas?

I am not at all sure it is gun related, could be almost anything. Just wondering, what makes you so sue it is part of a gun barrel?

A couple of people we metel dect there told me and it easy and old army fort during the Civil War some one found musket balls and 3 ringers about 5 feet from where I dug this up
