I'll take a crack at it. The base looks daltonish to me, and I cant really tell very well by the pics, But it looks like it has a right hand bevel. Early Archaic is my quess possibly dalton varient. JMO.  John P.s Nice find .congrats.

I don't think its a Dalton, the only Dalton types on the East Coast are 'Hardaways', with distinctive 'Ears'. You say its ground on the base, as we see it's not concave. Well the only point I can see is a 'Stanfield'. Hope this is helpful. Just my opinion.

Molly. :) Happy Hunting.

Yeah I am from Mo. and don't know your point types. Here are two different Dalton's found the same day very close to one another. They are both Dalton's, but yet they are different. I am no expert by any means, but it just has that early archaic look to it for me. Still a nice find. John

I found this point this past thursday and I need help to ID it. The point is 2 1/2 inches long, 1 inch wide at the base. It looks to be ground on one side of the base and the base is square to slightly concave. Any help would be appreciated.

It's a Stanfield. I have one that is made from Ohio Chert that is almost identical in shape to that one.

My guess was either a Greeneville or a Stanfield. I do appreciate the help
Thanks
