I spent a week visiting my brother in Washington state. We hunted public property near old Ft Vancouver. Found some 30 06 shell casings, a 45 70 Govt. casing, a couple buttons, a stripper clip for a 1903 Springfield and some bullets, and a 1934d Merc. I need help with the ID of one bullet, From what I can find on the Web it is from a 1853 Sharps. The one I saw on the Web was a .46 caliber. This one measures .543. I have seen references to a .52 caliber but nothing bigger. Does anyone know what this is? Thanks for your help.
