need help with a tesoro silver sabre 2

hello, i bought a tesoro silver sabre 2 from a freind of mine for $50 bucks i love the machine works well has great disc and depth i just have a question, on the back of the detector it has a little thing that can be turned i was wondering what the heck that thing does thanks everone for your help.

A couple of points worth remembering in regards to the Silver sabre 11 is that it likes a slow sweep speed and that the Threshold control also effects the Silent Search discriminate Mode.
Turning up the threshold in Disc mode will strengthen all target signals in this mode.
Remember to turn it back a bit before you switch back to All Metal mode, otherwise your eardrums might cop a hammering.
