Hey! Thank you so much. The whistle idea never crossed my mind. Looks like it's missing the whistle part. There's one or two I found on ebay. You know your relics

Some of the old bird whistles were meant to have a little water in the bottom. This would give it a warbling sound. Tony

Now wait... Not trying to undermine Mr. nhbenz but we need to see more pics. How big is it, in inches ? Can we see all four sides?

Absolutely no need.

I have the exact same one complete, another missing the whistle (Like this one) and several fragments.

I also filled it up with some water and made the "warbling" sound and it is remarkable how bird-like it sounds.

Victorian era. Nice find!
