Found this bracelet in a box lot at an auction, I am a newbie with jewelry so was just wondering what this is and I it has any value? It would be about 8" long. No marks, nothing to identify it. I did find some nice 1960s costume jewelry in the box so wanted to check if this had any value. Thank you and HH!

Vintage costume jewelry. A piece like that I'd ask 12-15 bucks for at flea market.

Are the beads glass? They might be Murano glass beads.

Let me know where your set up at. I wanna buy your jewelry. I wouldn't sell it without researching it a little more myself to find a comparable example of this style of bracelet from the same maker. Based on the 5 link design and constuction of that bracelet it is a vintage piece of " Juliana" D&E (Deliza & Elster) costume jewelry. None of it is marked. They used paper tags that hung on the pieces when new. You'll find it is very collectible and certain pieces are worth their weight in gold, literally.

Nice id, Dig. How did you come by that without any markings?

Nice buy, OP. Costume jewelry can definitely have value if you know what you're looking at.

Incredible ID Dig, thank you so much for that! I thought it was a decent piece, but again I am very new to jewelry. I do feel there is a great opportunity in my area to pick up nice pieces.

I picked this up at an auction, the jewelry box was on a wagon that was stuffed with junk. It was hard to even dig through as there was just a ton of unsorted junk on the table. I was able to dig into the box and saw that there was a huge, probably 2 oz sterling necklace and pendant along with some nice costume jewelry. I won the box for $30, and brought it to my car for safe keeping. I went back before the auction was over and realized someone had stolen the huge sterling necklace, and I was quite upset. The auctioneer got mad and yelled at whoever stole it, but basically said nothing he can do, it was sold and it was my responsibility to make sure it was in there. For a second, I almost thought about not paying for it and leaving the box there, but came to my senses as there were a few nice costume pieces and there was some stuff that was somewhat buried that I hadnt had a chance to take a close look at.

So out of that box came this bracelet, a HAR jewelry set of earrings with bracelet, a 5 gram 14K charm bracelet with the letter B, and numerous vintage costume pieces. It was a good thing I didnt lose my cool as it seems I should do quite well with this box!! Thanks again Dig and other posters, treasurenet truly rocks!

I would like to see a pic of the 14kt charm bracelet if you have one.

I'm always willing to learn digs. Thanks for the links

Sorry it's at the office, will get a pic of the 14k bracelet and some of the other pieces tomorrow. Thanks for the interest.

I had read about it in the past after someone on here mentioned Juliana jewelry concerning one of the pieces I posted in the past. I saw the 5 link construction with the safety chain and it hit me.

Sorry about that. I just read my post and it sounded a little smart-alecky, wasn't meant too.

Here's that 14k bracelet, has a very intricate chain.

Wow! Very nice bracelet. That link style is great. I would sell the charm and bracelet seperately. I love the link style.

Thanks for your help! Any idea what to call that link style and what are your guys thoughts on selling gold jewelry now that prices are down? Wait and see or just sell to keep inventory moving?

I think it's a Byzantine link. Does it look like this, hard to see...

I think that's personal preference. If you can afford to save it, it might be a good idea. If you wany the money to buy more stuff, then sell it. I personally don't get caught up in gold as an investment. To me, whether gold or anything else, it's all about the flipping and making more money IMO. If I waited to sell everything at the optimum time, I would be single and it wpuldn't matter if I am a hoarder.

Everything has a price tag. Gold and silver too just not at scrap prices. I'm doing more collecting than selling at the moment, as far as gold and silver goes anyway.

Thanks for the suggestions, and Dig thanks for the link ID. I appreciate the chance to learn as I go, and that's why I love what I do! Learn something everyday.

I believe Digs got both the ID's right on. Byzantine appears to be the style of the gold bracelet and the costume piece appears to be Juliana. There are web sites just for Juliana jewelry and you may be able to get help with a positive ID on it there. If you can find a photo of it in one of the books ID'ing her stuff you should be able to get a very decent price for it. Sorry, I don't have any links to give for the sites. It's been awhile since I have used them. We were at an auction last weekend and there was a 10k necklace with a nice pendant in a small box of jewelry. When it came time to auction that box the necklace had disappeared! Some people really stink. Thankfully it was noticed before the bids began but I was bummed and decided it was time to go. I do not like thieves. Good luck on the bracelets!!
