Two feet from the spot that I found the white quartz point (Below post), I found this item in the surf line of the river. Now.... the thing that strikes me the most is the serrated edges which could still easily cut through meat or skin. When held in the hand it feels soooo....... it feels like a hand held knife or tool. Hmmmm. I don't know. At first I thought that it was a stone in the process of being made into a spear but its pretty heavy and feels like a perfect fit for the hand as is. Thoughts?

I dunno? :icon_scratch: You find some difficult things to I.D on that beach. I am thinking some high power glass might help you examine the edges. I do not mean your deer scope either :laughing7:
Stay cool !

Yea man..... you said it! This area does provide many mystery's and it has seen so much activity from so many eras that it makes anything possible. I don't know about this one. It has all of the feel of a man made cutting tool but nature does strange things so who knows? Thanks again.

Large, un-hafted knives were made and used by pretty much everybody. Quick, simple and got the job done.

If you held this in your hand you would quickly see that this one was perfect for that job. The right size, weight and sharp with serrated edges. Thanks for the input and I hope that all is well with you and yours :icon_thumleft:
