While doing a deep house cleanup today I found my Dad's tie clip. Anytime he wore a tie he wore this clip. The clip was thought to be lost after he passed 14 years ago when I couldn't find it when I cleaned out his apartment. While looking Through a box with Dad's Treasures printed on it I saw it again.

It was patented in 1940 by Keisler (2195594) and has a gold charm on it. I still don't know what the charm is symbolic of, if anyone recognizes it or could point me in the right direction it would be extremely appreciated. It won't get lost again. image.webpimage.webpimage.webp

Thanks for the replies. I am still searching. I'll check it out at a local Synagogue. My father said he found it in the street after returning from Europe in WWII in 1946. That is why it's meaning has been a mystery.

On VE Day my fathers unit was in Braunau, Austria (Hitler's birthplace). I always thought it was a symbolic place to be when the war ended.

To my eyes, it looks Hebrew. Keep us updated!

Fraternity chapter pin for Tau Beta Phi at Lehigh University originally (started 1885). Was your Dad an engineer?

That's it. Thank you all, Tneters never disappoint.

Ironically, my son graduated from one of the top engineering schools but received honors in the business school last year. At the ceremony the Greek letters were there. I didn't even think to look for a honors society.

It's called a bent, 10k and can still be purchased
