Need help with ID'ing iron pot

My friend's wife was given this pot. I was wondering if anyone had any info on it or what it's worth? She was told it was used for melting lead. Thanks in advance for the help!

It has been described as a lead melting pot.
Hood Tools of Pa. (Philly also)made a similar G17.
Not sure if the two names are related...
