Need help with Indian ax

Pick these up the other day just wondering if they are genuine Ax head and if possible where they might have come from thank you

Picked up? Can you provide more details? If purchased where? Any background? Better pics of both bits and close ups of the groove on dark one. They look good from a distance but they are often faked. I am more skeptical of the dark one.

What do you know about the belt buckle? Fake Civil War relics and fake Indian relics are a combo I used to see at a
couple of shows.

One if the axes looks ok, but could be modern as well. One looks odd.

I bought them from an estate sale along with the US belt buckle the owner of the house was into metal detecting here is a few more pictures

I would lean to say yes on the axes. Nice ones if real deal. I see a lot of pecking and imperfections to indicate by hand. Just my opinion curious on other thought... I would have grabbed them.

Say Cheech, Before judging the black axe too harshly see if a magnet will stick to it. If so, even slightly, it may be meteoritic iron. Very, very rare but they do exist. I have a piece in my collection that I accidently discovered was magnetic. Its very black and has a high luster like your piece. The deep black color comes from nickel that has been heated to a very high temperature. The reason it's, only mildly, magnetic is it's basically stainless steel. How in the world they ever shaped it is a total mystery to me. abrasion I suppose.
You won't have much luck searching for them on the net although once I found one on a Latin American auction site. About the size of the plate in your photo and brought a significant price. I attempted to find out who had confirmed the content but never got answer back. Nice Finds.

I think anybody with sense would have picked them up for that
