I found this in a field where a revolutionary war battle took place. Also it was a british encampment for the whole war. I'm not sure if it is from the revolution but 95% of the items we find are.

Its made out of lead it weighs in between an American and British musketball. On one side I can clearly see the number 5 and stars on the outside. You can see its about the size of a dime. Also there's a pic next to a Brown Bess musket ball.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Looks like a lead bale seal. Not sure of the time frame thou. Nice find!

Thanks for the info. I just looked them up and I agree that's what it is. I wish I could find the time period/company it was from.

That's the fun part. Research time ;).

Id say 1800s - have gotten similar ones in Ma.

Yeah the style of the lettering tends to rule out it being early.

Yep,I'll say a common one to cause I've seen them quite often from others. Here's some I found so you can read them better. At any point seems they were from Germany & used in potash which would make sense where I found mine at the edge of the water were old farms were. And yes the late 1800's early 1900's fit as well.
here's you some more info on them.............
Bale Seal Mystery solved!....
