Good afternoon everyone
Recent find on old permission that never stops giving. It’s a pin that looks like maybe a Native American thunderbird ?? Hate a few stones are gone but still a cool find. Have not pulled anything newer than the 30s from this property . I noticed that it appears that more often than not the thunderbird jewelry seems to be red and blue . Can’t find any examples of early pins.
Any help on Age or examples similar much appreciated

The shape is somewhat similar to a Zuni thunderbird, but I have never seen or even heard of an authentic piece of
southwestern Indian jewelry set with clear faceted stones. Traditionally they use turquoise, jet, coral and spiny oyster. I don't think it is Indian.

Thank you , I also saw that most examples I found were turquoise. It just seemed to have the color and shape . Will have to keep searching the mystery continues ,thanks again

This reminds me of a brooch I found a couple years ago with colored-glass mounted instead of gemstones. A local jeweler dated it to about the 1920s.

Nice piece! I guess it’s a slim chance the stones are nearby. I might try sifting a few buckets of soil, long shot but would be cool to recover a stone.

That match’s the time frame of most of the other items found . May just have to go try and sift a bit of dirt for the other stones .
