Hi Everybody,
I joined the forum yesterday and introduced myself and now I have a question. I received a Garrett Ace 250 for Christmas and my property was an old Union camp. So far I have found three minie balls and enough nails to build a house! I have kept it set to all metals and taken the sensitivity down a couple of notches, but still find lots of junk. Since I have not found enough good stuff to get a feel for how the 250 would register it, I was hoping I could get some suggestions on settings that would find the minie balls and other relics such as buttons and not so much junk.
Thanks,
Duane

nice hope you find some nice stuff

For relics definitely keep it on all metal mode, I like to run my 250 in jewerly mode.

Typically when relic hunting, one is going to run the discrimination low/very low.
When you do this, the more junk you're gunna dig.

However, if all you want to dig is lead bullets, brass and such, run your disc to the middle & run the sensitivity as hot as you can stand it(usually one from max).
You'll skip a lot of crap. Of course, you'll miss good stuff too.

Good luck!
